![]() He kept the youngest, an infant who was his biological child. After Yeargain vanished, Minter took her three oldest children to their former foster parents, who contacted the Wyoming Department of Family Services. He stated that she took a grocery sack full of clothing with her and refused to say where she was going. "Yeargain's boyfriend of three years, Josh Minter, stated she abandoned him and her four children on August 10, 2004. I began a reporter and I noticed her photo on the front page of the newspaper.she was missing. We ran into each other from time to time on the street and had a chance to catch up. It was right after Christmas and the fire had consumed most of the children's presents. My family donated a ton of things to help her. At some point I remember some talk about the boyfriend she was dating being involved in the fire. In December of 2003, I remember reading an article in the local newspaper saying that her home had burnt down. They were close and had a child together. I later noticed that she was dating an old friend of mine from high school. Although she was old than me, I took her under my wing and showed her the ropes. I was introduced to her at work, the day she started. Renee became a mother at a very young age and life wasn't easy for her. It seems the county just let this one go because Renee wasn't a model citizen in the eyes of many. Today marks the 7th anniversary of the disappearance of a close friend of mine. The only time you really get a pay raise if you get promoted but other then that, you don't get anything.I need some help again! Don't have any idea where to put this. You don't get much of pay raise at all and so you make less money working in a dangerous environment. Also when I started I was making up to at least $18/hr, now it is less, now your getting only about $16/hr starting. Most officers and most upper ranking superiors are nice to work with but once you get to the higher ranking superiors its terrible since no one wants to really listen to your opinion. You would be lucky to get at least one 15min break out of the whole day. 12 hour work days with no breaks is terrible. The officers just about never get a break out of 12 hours in the day. There is also an issue when the upper management rather listen to some admin staff who are never on the floor with inmates rather the officers. There is an issue when a place such as a state penitentiary listens to the inmates more then the officers who are on the floor with inmates 12hrs out of day 4x in a week. The reason why not mostly is because of the management in the place. It's a good place to start a career in law enforcement but not a great place to stay at for a long time. And let Them know!įor 4 days on 4 days off work week. If you got something on your chest pull them aside. Otherwise you're going to be on your superiors s*** list for a while!Īnd one final rule don't ever call out your fellow correctional officer in front of the inmate! That is bad form. Suck it up! This is the field of Corrections, this is not a field that anybody really wants to pursue for a career even when the economy is good no one wants it.ĭo not jump chain of command to discuss an issue approach your direct Superior first before you go higher up. Stay away from the Too Faced pretend to be nice to you at the beginning and then throw you under the bus ones. Long story short what I'm saying is look for the staff member that it's hard on you yet when the higher-ups come around they say good things about you. They are continuously be there to help guide you. But they work there for so long just keep trying and eventually they will open up to you.įind the unit Sergeant's and experienced staff there that will definitely know when you ****** up, but they will not throw you under the bus right away. ![]() It will definitely take time for some senior staff to give you their respect. And you wonder how and why they are still there. They definitely have staff there that can at times make staff morale low. Yes there are times where it definitely does take a toll on you. Overall I was saying my work experience there was decent. I worked at the Wyoming State Penitentiary from January of 2014 to about July 2017.
